Get to Know Me

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

Hi! I'm Kaden Mendez, a dedicated senior at Granger High School, graduating in 2025. I’m passionate about making a difference in my community, which is why I’m thrilled to be a candidate for the Utah Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Leading this fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society aligns with my commitment to helping others and driving change.

As a GTI Ambassador, HOSA member, and part of the Granger track team, I’ve balanced academics with extracurriculars, always striving to make a positive impact. I’m currently training to become a medical assistant and a phlebotomist and plan to complete an externship at the University of Utah, with a goal of studying oncology.

Having witnessed multiple family members battle cancer, this cause is deeply personal to me. I’m determined to support cancer research that will make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. Thank you for joining me in this fight!

Our team, Ahlam Elnoor, Jenny Le, Tafani Mochimaru, Avery Harmston, Maty Bamba, Willimena, Christina Le, and Angela Ocampo is a group of passionate individuals, each bringing their own energy and dedication to this mission. We’re united by our commitment to finding a cure and making a difference. Together, we’ll keep pushing forward and won’t stop until we make a difference.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
